A Golden Globe nominee for HBO's In Treatment and L.A. Law, Blair Underwood has also had notable starring roles in the television series The Event, Dirty Sexy Money, Sex and the City, and The New Adventures of Old Christine.

In 2009, he received a Grammy© award for Best Spoken Word Album for An Inconvenient Truth and served as an "Artist In Residence" at Harvard University. Underwood attended Carnegie Mellon University and also holds an honorary Doctorate from Emerson College.

In spring of 2012, Underwood will make his Broadway debut as Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire.
